The Virginia Judicial System website has Family Abuse Protective Order forms that can be filled out online through their “ICAN!” system. You can find the petition for a Protective Order for an Act of Violence, Force, or Threat on their website as well. Additional forms are available on their website here.

The courthouse in your area will also have the forms you need, and the clerk may be able to help you fill them out.

Someone in a domestic violence organization in your area may be able to help you get the forms and also help you through the process. To find help in your area, go to VA Advocates and Shelters.
