EspañolJDAC provides individuals in the Los Angeles area who are confronting the Jewish divorce process with a live resource center to help navigate the unique challenges of Jewish divorce, offering in-person emotional and logistical support, guidance through the beit din (Jewish Court) process, and informal mediation services. Additionally, JDAC offers referrals to social service agencies, legal services, and other professionals in the Los Angeles Area.

Shalom Bayit is an organization of Jewish women in the San Francisco Bay Area working to end domestic violence. They provide support and advocacy to women who live with domestic violence, and can help observant Jewish women find safe shelter in which they can observe Shabbat, the laws of kashrut (dietary restrictions), etc.

The Jewish Coalition Against Domestic Abuse (JCADA) helps residents of the DC, Maryland, and Virginia (DMV) Metro Area who live with domestic violence. Among their many services, JCADA helps women find food and shelter, provides legal assistance and job training, and partners with the Jewish Social Service Agency (JSSA) to provide counseling to victims of domestic violence.

Agunah International
Agunah International counsels agunot whose husbands are withholding gitten as a means of control, provide financial aid to agunot in need, and raise awareness about the plight of agunot in the community. They also refer agunot to appropriate Rabbinical Courts, and help people nationally and internationally.

Kayama is a not-for-profit organization for Jewish people that helps them obtain a “get,” which is a Jewish religious divorce. They do not help with civil, non-religious divorces. There is no charge for their services. They help people in all states, all countries.
One Step Forward: The Jewish Divorce Resource Line
One Step Forward (OSF): The Jewish Divorce Resource Line is a project of ORA (Organization for the Resolution of Agunot) and offers support, guidance, and referrals to individuals contemplating or going through the divorce process. One Step Forward has a particular focus on helping callers navigate the civil and Jewish divorce processes. They help people throughout the nation at no charge.

The Shalom Task Force offers a nationwide domestic violence hotline staffed by advocates fluent in English, Spanish, and Yiddish. They also house Sarah’s Voice, a legal assistance program for Orthodox Jewish victims of domestic violence.
The Organization for the Resolution of Agunot
The Organization for the Resolution of Agunot (ORA) seeks to eliminate abuse from the Jewish divorce process. ORA works within the parameters of Jewish and civil law to advocate for the timely and unconditional issuance of a get through case advocacy, early intervention programs, and educational initiatives. They help people throughout the nation at no charge.
