A Safe Embrace
Committee to Aid Abused Women
Provides 24-hour hotline services, support groups, legal support, domestic violence advocacy at Child Protective Services, transportation, food, clothing, shelter, children’s programs, and transitional housing.
Sexual Assault Support Services - Crisis Call Center
Crisis Call Center’s 24-hour crisis line often serves as the first point of contact for individuals who are seeking help, support, and information.
Sierra Community House - Incline Village
In 2019, four non-profit social service organizations serving California and Nevada — Family Resource Center of Truckee, North Tahoe Family Resource Center, Tahoe SAFE Alliance, and Project MANA — united to form Sierra Community House. With four offices located in Kings Beach, Truckee, and Incline Village, Sierra Community House offers a range of services that help individuals and families in the North Tahoe/Truckee communities. Services include: crisis intervention and family support for victims of domestic/intimate partner violence, sexual assault, and child abuse; community engagement and prevention; hunger relief; and mediation and legal assistance.
Washoe County Victim Services
Advocates assess the victim’s individual needs and concerns and provide a variety of support and services. These may include safety plan development, personal advocacy, referrals to community resources such as counseling, support groups and resources, provide updates on the status of their criminal case, assist in filing for victims of crime compensation, assist in filing for a Temporary Protection Order or Stalking Order, and inform the victim of victim’s rights.
