Can I get child support?

If your children live with you, you may be able to get child support. The amount of child support ordered is based on the custody arrangement and the child support guidelines.1

The Alaska Court System’s Family Law Self-Help Center explains child support, how to calculate it, and what forms the court will need. They also explain how to fill out the child support affidavit that is required in many cases.

Alaska’s Child Support Services Division (CSSD) can sometimes help you get the child support you are owed. Their website has a Child Support Guideline Calculator that can help you estimate the amount of child support that may be ordered in your case.
