A judge may grant a divorce in Utah if:
- you or your spouse has been a resident of Utah and a resident of the county where you filed your complaint for divorce for at least 90 days before filing;
- you are a member of the U.S. armed forces and have been stationed in Utah for three months before filing for divorce; or
- neither of the above are true, but you and your spouse both agree to the court in Utah having the power (jurisdiction) to decide your divorce case.1
