2nd Chance, Inc. through it’s emergency shelter Joy Katherine Courtney House offers a safe place for those fleeing domestic and sexual violence. Staff at the shelter are available 24-hours a day to provide support, encouragement, and assistance. Children’s advocates are also available to assist providing helpful activities for the children. Other services available include: forensic exam support, counseling, court and legal advocacy, case management, child advocacy, elder abuse supportive services, assistance with pets and community outreach. Serving Calhoun, Cleburne,Cherokee, Etowah, Talladega and Randolph counties.

The Salvation Army Women’s Shelter provides emergency shelter and referrals for community resources. Serving Calhoun and Cleburne counties.
Colbert
Safeplace - Colbert
Safeplace provides services to six mostly rural counties Lauderdale,Colbert,Lawrence,Franklin,Marion, Winston. Offering a 24-hr help line, case management, safety planning, children’s services, court advocacy, emergency shelter, supportive and transitional housing. Safeplace is able to provide assistance to Spanish speaking victims of abuse. Hispanic liaisons provide case management, court advocacy and personal advocacy. All informational materials have been translated into Spanish. Safeplace also has a pool of Spanish speaking volunteers to help families in need.

The Lighthouse - University of South Alabama (Conecuh)
The Lighthouse is a non profit agency serving victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. Providing court advocacy, counseling for adults, advocacy services for adults and children. All services provided at no cost to the victims. For victims of sexual assault services are available in Baldwin and Escambia counties. Services for victims of domestic violence are available in Baldwin, Escambia, Conecuh, and Monroe counties.

Bethesda House
Bethesda House provides emergency shelter with food and emotional support services. Bethesda House also offers residents trauma-based therapy, mindfulness and self-care strategies for coping-skill development; transportation to therapy sessions, court and legal appointments, medical appointments, and employment; and education and job skill training. Other community services available as well as pet sheltering (off-site).
