YWCA of Central Virginia’s Domestic Violence Prevention Center (DVPC) provides services to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. Services include: a 24-hour crisis line, emergency shelter, food, housing and clothing, a transitional shelter, court advocacy, hospital accompaniment, and legal consultation. YWCA of Central Virginia’s Domestic Violence Prevention Center serves the cities of Lynchburg, Bedford, and Danville and the Counties of Amherst, Appomattox, Bedford, Campbell, Nelson, and Pittsylvania.

Transitions Family Violence Services
Transitions Family Violence Services (TFVS) provides services to adult and child victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. Services include: a 24-hour hotline, emergency, short-term and transitional shelter, safety planning and intervention services, case management, employment and permanent housing assistance, self-sufficiency education classes, legal advocacy, and counseling. TFVS’s services for children include: art and play therapy, counseling, advocacy with school enrollment and transportation, after-school tutoring program, and nurturing and parenting education. Legal services include: lethality assessment, court accompaniment, referrals and information, attorney referrals, and assistance with immigration services. Transitions Family Violence Services serves the City of Hampton.

Services to Abused Families (SAFE) provides services to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault and their children. Services include: a 24-hour hotline, shelter, legal advocacy, supportive counseling, case management, children and teen programs, services for the Latino community, and education programs. Services to Abused Families serves Culpeper, Fauquier, Madison, Orange, and Rappahannoch Counties.
